However, manufacturers have only partially passed on these savings through lower list prices, instead investing in larger batteries, technical improvements, and research and development.

The study highlights a crucial gap in the lower-priced market, with only 19 battery-electric models available in the mini and compact segments in 2025, compared to 35 internal combustion engine models.
